Our Story
The roots of Buckley's Music go back almost 100 years. Originally it was called The Music Box and it was later renamed The Gottingen Music Centre. Through the 1950s and early 1960s the company sold musical instruments, records, record players, and major appliances. It became Buckley's Music in September of 1962 when it was purchased by Len Buckley. Mr. Buckley reduced the company's involvement in fridges to focus on musical instruments during the boom of Beatlemania.

Since
Buckley's Music was established in 1962 the world has gone through
a number of changes. Popular music has certainly changed throughout
the decades. Over the last 45 years we've seen everything from
the British invasion to the World Wide Web. Through it all,
thick and thin, Buckley's Music has served the music industry
of our region.
In 1995, the ownership of the company was turned over to Heather and Ken Foote, both musicians, with Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education (Mount Allison University) and Master of Education degrees (2 for Heather - St FX and Acadia and SMU for Ken). Combining their background in education and music they began the process of shaping the company into the kind of music store they could be proud of, a place where their customers would be offered quality and value and treated with the respect they deserve.
With experience as a musician, and a background as a music educator with a natural interest in business and sales, Ken is working everyday to improve Buckley's Music and continue to earn a reputation for treating people right.
Ken says: "We don't ride on our reputation. We are only as good as our last transaction. We work with our dedicated and talented staff everyday to improve our products and services. Our goal is to earn our customers' business and respect. "
